A device used to assess middle ear pressure, as well as mobility and integrity of the eardrum. A diagnostic tympanometer can also be used to record contractions of the stapedial muscle of the middle ear.

Tympanometer • Tests performed on a tympanometer are known as immittance measures and comprise a battery of evaluative measures.

• Immittance measures provide information about the health and function of the middle ear that can add to the clinical picture used by the physician to reach a diagnosis.

Evoked Potential System • This piece of equipment is used to deliver an auditory stimulus and measure the response of the auditory nerve and central pathways elicited by the stimulus.

• Evoked potentials can be used as a predictor of hearing level and as a screening for neural disorders.
