Audiometers

• An audiometer is an instrument used to test hearing

• Audiometers produce pure tones, narrow band, and speech band noise

• Speech may be presented through an audiometer at preselected loudness levels using either recorded materials or live voice

Audiometers • Audiometers are often computer based

• Audiometers can deliver signals through headphones, inserts, or a loudspeaker

• Most audiometers have two-channels - one controlling the input to the right headphone, insert, or speaker, and the other controlling input to the left
