• Purpose is to find out how clear sound is once it is made comfortably loud- a test of UNDERSTANDING • Can present words (NU-6 for adults, W-22 for kids) live voice or recorded • Helps to identify pathology in the auditory system • Helps in hearing aid selection (which ear to fit) • Aids in determining rehabilitation prognosis
