always been education. Of course, we all rely on the AAO-HNS for advocacy issues and for guidance in practice management. But above all else, we value the educational programs that help us keep up with the relentless progress of knowledge and technology so that we can provide the best care for our patients. Your Academy has continued to exceed our expectations— providing the information we need through an ever increasing variety of formats that utilize principles of adult learning. All this is possible because of the tremendous volunteer efforts of members, based on their real-life experiences as practicing otolaryngologist head and neck surgeons.” Another monumental achievement came in 2015 when the AAO-HNSF was awarded the distinction of Accreditation with Commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). This status, which was only awarded to a fraction of all organizations who seek to become an accredited provide, represented acknowledgement of a program that delivers the highest quality of practice relevant, physician-focused education. In the notification, ACCME President and Chief Executive Officer Graham McMahon, MD, MMSc, said of this accomplishment, “We commend your organization for meeting the ACCME’s accreditation requirements and for demonstrating that yours is a learning organization and a change agent for the physicians and patients you serve.” The term of this designation extended six years through July 31, 2021. This was an outstanding result that was led by the AAO-HNSF Education Coordinator, Sonya Malekzadeh, MD; Coordinator-elect, Richard V.
