New Logo and Branding Launched in 2018: We Are One Otolaryngology United for Patient Care
In 2018, led by Dr. Denneny, the AAO-HNS/F launched a new logo. “We Are One: Otolaryngology United for Patient Care” represented the Academy’s core visual identity with everything else rooted in its meaning. As the Academy and Foundation moved forward as contemporary organizations under the guidance of the updated 2018 Strategic Plan and vision for the future, it was only fitting that the theme and professional logo were updated. The 2018 vision stated that the “Academy/Foundation is the home for all professionals specializing in ear, nose, and throat care; that we are recognized as an inviting, accepting, and inclusive professional community fostering diversity within the specialty and the organization; and that we foster synergistic partnerships with international colleagues, specialty societies, allied health providers, and strategic partners.”

The circular nature of the design represents the continuing bond with patients, the global nature of the AAO-HNS/F, and the equality of all members of the team and patients they serve. “We Are One: Otolaryngology United for Patient Care” and the logo visual representation embodied not only the AAO-HNS/F vision and goals but also the values of a society in creating a diverse and inclusive healthcare community focused on resolving health inequity in patient care through greater understanding, research, and implementation of actionable measures. “We feel the logo is representative of our commitment to inclusivity at all levels needed to provide the best patient care in today’s world,” shared Dr. Denneny.
