LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE

The AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience continued to enhance offerings making sure the program met the needs of attendees in the quest for exposure to cutting-edge science as well as opportunities to grow their individual networks. Under the leadership of Dr. Randolph, the AAO HNSF operationalized the ongoing upgrade to the international programs rolled out at the 2017 Annual Meeting, which included the first International Advisory Board General Assembly and offering CME at the International Symposium. During the 2017 Annual Meeting, the program also introduced three highly successful simulation activities— Simulation Experience, Simulation Showcase, and SIM Tank. Some iteration of these programs continued to be included in the programming with great enthusiasm and participation. The OTO Experience in 2017 unveiled the Future of the Practice Pavilion, which showcased the technology, equipment, tools, and services used in an actual office setting, and ENT OTC Pavilion, which

housed companies that provided over-the-counter care and other ENT-related products. Additional modifications in 2018 included changing the names of program categories. What was known as Instruction Courses were now Expert Series. The previous Miniseminars category changed to Panel Presentations. Added program elements included Flash Talks, Rapid Poster Presentations, and botany tours. Another program highlight that received high ratings was hosting the President’s Reception at the Georgia Aquarium setting the course for future receptions to have equally entertaining and enlightening locations, such as Mardi Gras World at the 2019 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, and Xbox Plaza scheduled for the 2021 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles. Dr. Wax also noted the expanding international track as an enhanced value to the Annual Meeting experience. “The international community is a broad representation and essential piece to the Academy and the Annual Meeting. Medicine and healthcare are different all over the world. As we look to the international program offerings, we must remember that while we have a lot to
