Reg-ent launched the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting for its practices across all three categories: Quality, Improvement Activities, and Promoting Interoperability.
The AAO-HNSF International Symposium debuted at the AAO-HNSF 2016 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO℠ as a new forum designed to showcase cutting-edge content. The inaugural event provided a global perspective of challenges, treatments, and techniques through more than 20 education sessions and six posters presented by colleagues from around the world.
2017
The first meeting of the IAB was held on September 11, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois, during the AAO-HNSF 2017 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience. It was a gathering of all 64 International Corresponding Societies, chaired by the inaugural Chair, Johannes J. Fagan, MBChB, FCS(SA).
The Reg-ent pilot was tested, launched, and approved as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry and Qualified Registry by CMS, and reported PQRS for 2016.
Qualified Clinical Data Registry Measures Development began. As of summer 2021, the
AAO-HNSF has developed 22 specialty-specific measures.
OTO Open , the AAO-HNSF’s
peer-reviewed gold open access journal, was launched.
2018
ENThealth.org was launched as the AAO-HNSF patient-focused website.
Duane J. Taylor, MD, was the first African American to serve as AAO-HNS/F President.
2019-2020
The AAO-HNS/F launched a new theme and logo, “We Are One.”
The AAO-HNS/F established the Hall of Distinction.

The AAO-HNSF 2020 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience was offered as the first-ever Academy virtual meeting when the COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the in-person meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
The AAO-HNS/F planned a very special celebration of the 125th anniversary of the organization at the 2021 Annual Meeting.
2021
Reg-ent launched the first Patient Reported Survey in Age-Related Hearing Loss.
The AAO-HNSF launched the
OTO Logic was unveiled as the successor to AcademyU® to reflect the Foundation’s growing network of digital products.

FLEX was launched to replace the Home Study Course.
The AAO-HNS launched World Sinus Health Awareness Day, a new campaign to inform about the causes and treatments of sinus and nasal symptoms.
Reg-ent began Phase II to serve as the basis for otolaryngology clinical
research, to address product surveillance, and to provide a platform for internal and external research endeavors.
