AAO-HNS Membership Oath

AAO-HNS MEMBERSHIP OATH As a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, I consider the medical profession to be honorable and noble and solemnly pledge to consecrate my professional skill to improve health and relieve suffering;

I will respect and thank those who have taught me and continue to teach me;

I will practice my profession with conscience and dignity;

The health and needs of my patient will be my primary concern;

I will respect the privacy and confidentiality of my patients;

I will not permit considerations of religion, nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, party politics, or social standing to interfere with my duty to my patient;

I have read and will adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Academy;

And I make these promises solemnly and freely.
