• Seal for pressure and raise the pressure to +100 and see if it holds • Once seal is achieved set bridge to tympanogram

• Slowly increase pressure to +200 • Slowly decrease pressure to –200

Testing • If a perforation exists (or a PE tube is present) you may not get a seal • If seal is obtained you will get a large volume (3-4x higher than normal ear canal) with a "flat" response
